- Star Tribune, Johnson reignites controversy - Outgoing Senate leader insists that he has told the truth and jurists lied.
- Winona Daily News, Pelowski appointed head of committee - Rep. Gene Pelowski of Winona was appointed Tuesday to head the Government Operations Reform, Technology and Elections Committee in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
- Bemidji Pioneer, Olson named to four state Senate panels - Sen.-elect Mary Olson was named to four Minnesota Senate panels, including the Senate Health and Human Services Budget Division she sought. And, in a move not typical of most freshman, Olson will chair a subcommittee on data practices and serve as vice chairwoman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
- Mankato Free Press, Sheran to serve on health, higher ed - State Sen.-elect Kathy Sheran received appointments Monday to two Senate committees that oversee crucial pieces of south-central Minnesota's economy--the panels dealing with higher education and health care.
- Mesabi Daily News, Rukavina gets chairmanship of new panel - The House committee state Rep. Tom Rukavina, DFL-Virginia, will chair in the upcoming legislative session will deal with about 10 percent of the entire state budget.

- KSTP, Study: Political ads dominate - According to a study by the University of Wisconsin, in an average 30-minute newscast, researchers found more than four minutes of political ads, but less than two minutes of election news. The study found far more time devoted to crime, sports and weather.

- MPR, Sen. Coleman: Republicans lost on Iraq, ethics and governance [Real Player] - Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., says the Republicans can't blame their recent losses on the historical difficulties parties in power face during midterm elections. In a conversation with Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., Monday, Coleman said Republicans "got beat because of ethics, got beat because of Iraq and got beat because we didn't govern."
